Foundational Learning with TEC Explorer: We began by demystifying the world of Technology Enabled Care. This initial phase is all about laying a solid foundation. We introduced learners to various types of TEC solutions, helping them understand their potential impact in health, social care, and housing. This groundwork ensured that learners had a baseline understanding before diving deeper.

 
 

Advanced Understanding with TEC Expert: Once the basics were in place, the TEC Expert phase took learning to the next level. We explored complex concepts like needs assessment, risk evaluation, and the ethics of TEC. It’s here that learners were introduced to strengths-based conversations, which are crucial for tailoring TEC solutions to individual needs. This phase was about more than just learning; it was about understanding how to apply this knowledge practically.

 
 

Immersive Learning with Virtual Properties: To complement the eLearning modules, we introduced virtual properties created with cutting-edge gaming technology. These immersive environments weren’t just showcases; they were interactive spaces for learners to apply their knowledge hands-on. By exploring these virtual houses, learners could safely experiment and see TEC solutions in action, thus reinforcing learning outcomes.

 
 

Moreover, the TSA's Assessment Tool, co-designed with Totem, provided an intuitive interface for inputting client assessment data, ensuring a thorough evaluation process. This tool was designed with user engagement in mind, providing prompts and support during interactions with service users.

 
 
 
 

An empowered workforce and enhanced service delivery

The results? Remarkable. With nearly 5000 users engaging with our resource, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. One user noted, "It's not often that I'm impressed by online learning; but this was excellent!" Here are some key outcomes:

 

Knowledge Growth: A whopping 72% of users had little to no knowledge of TEC prior to the training, yet 95% reported feeling more knowledgeable afterwards. This shows a significant boost in understanding and awareness of Technology Enabled Care.

Confidence Building: 67% felt more confident using the Virtual House to explore technology solutions, which highlights the effectiveness of our immersive learning approach.

Referral Uplift: There was a 44% increase in referrals for Technology Enabled Care, demonstrating a tangible impact on service delivery and a deeper engagement with TEC solutions.
